Information
MAX485 is a simple interfacing circuit that makes TTL-leveled signals RS-485 compatible. Being that RS-485 isn't truly full duplex, it's necessary to tell the device whether we want to send or receive. This is done using the /RE and DE pins, when high the device will send. By using MAX485 together with MAX202 it's possible to make a RS-232 <-> RS-485 converter, see image below.
Pins
- RO Receiver Output
- RE Receiver Output Enable
- DE Driver Output Enable
- DI Driver Input
- GND Ground
- A Noninverting Receiver Input and Noninverting Driver Output
- B Inverting Receiver Input and Inverting Driver Output
- VCC +5V Positive Supply
