yes, I have compiled the linux kernel at least twice.
I know my way around well enough.
basically, I'm going to enable the stuff I need and disable a bunch of unneeded stuff.
100hz software interrupt(cause, remember, I'm making a server supercomputer)

well, I expect quite some load on this supercomputer; therefore, I'm gonna require some insane head node and some insanely crappy mini-itx computers as workhorses.

eh, I'm using a few "donated" and otherwise cruddy computers
budget? (money money money)
still to decide... I'm taking my precious time.
